Gift Guides · Corporate Gifting

The best corporate wine gift is a bottle the recipient would never buy for themselves, from a producer with a story, in packaging that looks intentional, delivered when someone is there to sign for it. That rules out the grocery-store Cabernet in a gift bag, and it rules out the generic basket of crackers and summer sausage.

Our Corporate Gifting Box is one of the best-selling gifts at Harvest Wine Shop. This guide covers what works: how much to spend, which wines land with people who know wine (and people who don't), and the shipping rules that trip up most first-time senders.

How much should you spend on a corporate wine gift?

For most client gifts, $50 to $100 per recipient is the range that feels generous without raising compliance questions. Below $40 you are competing with the bottles people already buy for Tuesday night. Above $150 you start bumping into gift policies: many companies cap what employees can accept from vendors, and government and healthcare clients often cap it far lower. Ask before you send.

  • $40 to $60: one excellent bottle in a gift box with a note. Think grower Champagne, a cru Beaujolais or a small-estate Napa Cabernet.
  • $75 to $100: a two- or three-bottle box. This is the sweet spot for client thank-yous and holiday lists.
  • $150 and up: cellar-worthy or rare bottles for top clients, board members and deal closings.

What wine should you give a client?

You rarely know a client's taste, so choose wines that are easy to love and interesting to talk about. Three rules cover almost every list:

  1. Sparkling wine is the safest single bottle. Nearly everyone opens it for a celebration, and grower Champagne feels special without being flashy. Read our guide to grower Champagne under $75.
  2. A red with a recognizable name, from a producer they don't know. Napa Cabernet, Oregon Pinot Noir or Chianti Classico reads as "nice wine" to anyone, and a family estate makes it a discovery for people who drink well.
  3. Skip the extremes. Very tannic young reds, sweet wines and funky natural wines are wonderful, but they divide a room. Save them for people you know.

Which is better: one great bottle or a mixed box?

A mixed box wins for teams and families because it gives people a choice. A single bottle wins for individual executives and deal closings, where the gesture matters more than the variety. Our Corporate Gifting Box comes as two bottles or three, and the "Executive Box" option swaps in three cellar-worthy, harder-to-find wines. Every box ships in Harvest-branded gift packaging with a personalized notecard, and shipping is included in the price.

Can you add your company's branding?

Yes. Custom branding and personalized messaging are available on corporate orders. The most effective branding is subtle: a printed card with your logo and a handwritten line reads as personal, while a logo sticker on the bottle reads as swag. Tell us your quantities and timeline on the corporate gifting page and we will quote the options.

What should the card say?

Keep it to two sentences: one about the relationship and one about the wine. For example: "Thank you for a great year of building together. This Champagne comes from J. Lassalle, a family grower in the village of Chigny-les-Roses; we hope you open it for something worth celebrating." Mentioning the producer's story gives the recipient something to repeat when they pour it, which is how a gift gets remembered.

How do you ship wine gifts legally?

Wine shipping is governed state by state, so check your list against the states we ship to before you order. Three practical rules save most headaches:

  • An adult 21 or older must sign. Ship to office addresses during business hours, or to a home only when you know someone will be there.
  • No PO boxes. Carriers need a physical street address.
  • Mind the weather. Heat cooks wine in transit. In warm months we ship with cold packs or hold shipments for cooler weather.

If your recipients are in a state we can't ship to, send a digital gift card instead. It arrives by email, and they can use it the next time they order.

When should you order holiday corporate gifts?

Order by mid-November for December delivery. That leaves time to confirm addresses, print cards and ship by ground rather than paying for air. Late orders still work: our holiday shipping deadlines list the final cutoffs each December, and San Diego County recipients can get local delivery almost until Christmas Eve.

FAQ

What is a good corporate wine gift?

A two- or three-bottle box from small producers, with a personal note, is the most reliable corporate wine gift. For a single bottle, grower Champagne or a small-estate Napa Cabernet reads as special to both casual drinkers and collectors.

How much should I spend on a client wine gift?

Most companies spend $50 to $100 per client. Check the recipient's gift policy first: many cap vendor gifts, and government and healthcare clients often cap them at a much lower amount.

Can wine be shipped to any state?

No. Direct-to-consumer wine shipping is regulated state by state. Check our list of eligible states, and send a digital gift card to recipients in states we can't ship to.

Do you offer custom branding on corporate wine gifts?

Yes. Corporate orders can include branded notecards and personalized messages. Request a quote through our corporate gifting page with your quantities and delivery dates.
