Deux Punx is a collab between two ex-punk rockers who try to take grapes from a vineyard and turn them into wine of the purest expression. Aged 13 months in neutral oak and minimal SO2 added.

"[The grapes in this wine are sourced from this] iconic vineyard (Del Barba Vineyard), planted in the 1800s as a field blend. This old-school vineyard is currently dry-farmed, un-pruned, and un-sulfured. We did everything in our power not to f-up these timeless grapes. More complex and less fruit-driven than in past years but there is still that crazy umami and deep fruit. Drink some California history! Art: Andrew Schoultz"

Tasting Notes: ripe blackberries, black tree fruit, slight hibiscus, some pomegranate acid
Variety: Zinfandel
Region: North Coast, CA from Del Barba Vineyard, Oakley
Volume: 750ml
Alcohol Volume: 14%

"Aging punk rockers, Dan Schaaf and Aaron Olson began making wines together in 2008 using a battered little warehouse in Napa. Their minimalist wines use fruit from a variety of Northern California locations. Their wines - 100-plus year old head-trained Zinfandel from the Del Barba Vineyard; balanced and fun white blends from the Cecchini Vineyard in Contra Costa County; tart strawberry Grenache Noir from the Tejada family’s beautiful Lake County vineyard; Orange Chardonnay and Falanghina from up-and-coming San Benito County; and the white pepper of Albini Carneros Cabernet Franc - showcase their love of the land around them.

Each wine is produced in the same manner – spontaneous fermentation, minimal SO2, neutral oak and ambient temperatures. “We do our best to not screw with what comes out of the vineyards, not just rolling with but embracing the differences from one year to the next.”
