Domaine des Combat:
Combat is now led by father and daughter team, Pierre and Sandra. They are the 3rd and 4th generation of family vignerons in the Crozes-Hermitage appellation.

The vineyard
Domaine des Combat extends over 22 hectares, divided between 19 hectares of red grape varieties and 3 hectares of white grape varieties. In red, it is the emblematic Syrah, queen of the northern Rhône, which constitutes the entirety of the grape varieties. In white, Marsanne, traditionally grown by the family, was recently joined by Roussanne which will soon enter production.
The main terroirs of Domaine des Combat:
On Mercurol and the Chassis terrace, we find rather clayey, sedimentary soils with rolled pebbles, warm and generous soils.
On the Coteau des Pends, we find sandier, whiter soils, also more draining, always with clay, and part of alluvial terraces with clay and gravel.
On the heights of Larnage, we find loess, white soils, suitable for white grape varieties but also for red so that it expresses more finesse.
