You really can't go wrong with gifting a (set duration) wine club. Most clubs online are great. There are a few that you should steer clear of (e.g. newspaper sponsored clubs, winery wine clubs (unless you know their favorite winery))

A good wine club (like ours...hey we're confident...) allows them to discover new regions, compare varieties, and taste through a thoughtful rotation without the guesswork. Great tasting notes, food pairings, and seasonal themes keep the learning (and the joy) going all year.
